Black Jersey Giants -- Upcoming Hatches

Black Giants are a gorgeous, large black bird with white wing tips, chest and abdomen.  My first rooster was a Black Jersey Giant that I adopted from an animal shelter.  He was very friendly, and the hens from this breed are also very low key.  They go about their business, laying eggs and clucking happily.  They lay about 150 eggs per year, extra large brown eggs.  They are larger than most other breeds, so they are sometimes kept as a dual purpose bird for both eggs and meat.
