Welsummer -- Upcoming Hatches

Welsummers are calm, larger birds that are wonderful to have in your backyard.  They lay a large amount of darkish brown - red, sometimes speckled eggs.  They are fun to have in your flock when you want a different egg color in your basket other than tan and white.  

They are really good foragers, and appreciate having room to roam.  Sometimes thought of as a dual purpose bird for eggs and meat because of their larger size.  This friendly, quiet bird is a joy to have.
