Rhode Island Red -- Upcoming Hatches

Rhode Island Reds are one of the most popular chickens with people for backyard flocks.  They lay a large quantity of large brown eggs and are hardy for most environments.  They are very active foragers, and are a great addition for pest control!  They always seem busy outside...looking for bugs and worms, but also enjoy being friendly with the family. Reds are considered a dual purpose bird because they also become a larger chicken, so they are useful for both eggs and meat.

I love my Rhode Island Reds.  They are friendly and sweet.  Very dependable layers.
