Mottled Houdan -- Upcoming Hatches

This would be one of my most gorgeous chickens.  I love my Mottled Houdan.  They are beautiful, sweet, and so gorgeous to look at.  The Mottled Houdans originated in France.  I started bringing in this breed when I wanted polka-dot looking chickens.  Black and White, with some really cool features, such as a large crest, beard and muff and five toes.  Their comb is unique also, in that it looks more like a v-shape. 

This beautiful chicken is medium sized, and can be in a coop with both standards or bantams.  They lay about 130-160 medium sized white eggs year round...including in the winter.  In France, they are also sought out as one of the primary delicacy meat birds, labeled 'Label Rouge' for their excellent taste.
