What a unique chicken. It is white, with a crest and a long body, and then it lays beautiful blue / green eggs. I raised this breed last year from Greenfire Farms stock, and this is the first year they are laying. So I will only have them in limited quantites for local Southern California pickup.
How do you say it's name...well, I'm going to have to practice this too...so here it is: It’s pronounced “Shine-dul-ar.”
This chickie originates in the Netherlands by a local vetererinarian, Dr. Kaasenbrood. He created it by combining the following breeds: Araucanas (for their blue egg gene), Sumatras (for their long bodies), Dutch crested fowls (for their crests), Brabant fowl (for who know what) and Leghorns (for their legendary egg production).
The Greenfire Farms stock tends to lay more blue eggs than green. So expect that you will get one of those colors from your chickie, and more probably blue. The eggs are beautiful.
